My only soap is developing a hole in the middle so I thought I'd stock up.

  • Haslinger Schafmilch Rasierseife: I saw it on a post on here a while ago and it stuck into my head.
  • Saponificio Varesino Argania: I heard they last a long time, I really hope so for the price! Greg praised them in his videos if I remember correctly. I know nothing of scents so I just read them all and narrowed it down to a few based on vibes. Then I chose Argania because the picture with the tree looked the coolest...
  • The Goodfellas' Smile Shibusa 2: An affordable option to try a soap with tallow.
  • Osma tradition Pierre D'Alun: I didn't have any yet and since I am a straight razor shaver there are enough opportunities to use one ๐Ÿ˜…
  • Saponificio Bignolic Vetiver: A bath soap, just a small preparation for mothers day when that comes.
  • They nicely gave me 5 "Tatra platinum" DE blades. I don't have a DE, maybe I'll give it to a friend.

I smelled the Argania and it does smell really nice indeed. My next shave is on Sunday, I am excited to try it. I probably wont open the other two at least until I emptied my current soap.

BTW, you are based in Europe, no?

I have smushes of Saponificio Varesino's Tundra Artica sitting around (which I planned to send to the US, but this is no longer possible). If you're interested, PM me your address (best via matrix).

I don't have Matrix but I appreciate the offer!

Looks great!

Objection! Clearly the Aztec motive on Opuntia looks the coolest

I have decided that my sense of aesthetics is the only correct and objective one! Check mate! And selecting soaps by their picture is of course a fool proof method :)

I just got some Saponificio Varesino too. It does take noticeably less soap than softer soaps to make enough lather. Good stuff

Good to hear!

Looks like a bunch of good stuff, nice haul!

I only shave two times a week currently, this amount should last me a long time.

A nice variety to try out different soaps. TGS is a soft soap/croap, Haslinger a happy medium and SV is triple milled hard soap IIRC. Enjoy!

Ah, I knew Haslinger is of relatively normal hardness and SV is hard, but didn't know TGS is soft. Selected all sorts in terms of hardness, happy accident. Thanks for the info!

TGS is rather nice to start with too, their soaps were my entry level into the hobby. Of course the SV will blow it out of the water in terms of quality, but considering the low price of Goodfellas it's a good option. Enjoy your shaves!
