The worse thing is, I know, and grew up around, conservatives.
I couldn't guarantee that this is intentional. This is just legitimately how some people view the world, with fact-resistant tribalism and a total lack of self-awareness.

I feel like projection is a product of a lack of self-awareness.
All of it ties to narcissistic traits; narcissistic personalities speak through and in service of the ego, which the narcissist perceives as infallible and supreme. Therefore the self-reflection required to check oneself before making statements and accusations about the behaviors and beliefs of others is nonexistent.
Besides, even if what a narcissist says about another person can also be applied to them personally, they see themselves as a righteous exception. Perfect example is the narcissist’s prayer.

Ron Paul was right all along, I blame fiat currencies, if they had to actually raise taxes to fund their military adventurism instead of just debasing paychecks then voters would kick their ass to the curb.
We also wonder why houses can be 10x income now gatekept by 30 year mortgages, its because its underwritten by the money printer.
