On a similar note, I have a few notes for a coca cola ad. Particularly in regards to the war on christmas.
I'd like the ad to open with the crucifixion. When Jesus cries out "I thirst". Then a Roman Soldier passes him a crisp and refreshing Coca Cola from a cooler.
Not really sure how to end it, but I think its fine to cut after Jesus says "Ahhh!"
Just like a coka cola funded paramilitary organisation quashes a union by killing its members, a crisp sip of coke will quench your thirst like no other

thank you for responding, i did not expect that! the block button in message would be helpful, as well as a report button if that's feasible. i figured out how to block them but not how to report them without DMing a mod directly. p.s. i love your app in every other way :) this was the first inconvenience i have had with it.
No problem! I think making the "Block User" button will be a genuine improvement. I don't think Lemmy lets you report users, but it looks like you can report private messages. I'll add that as well.

Given the date, I doubt this has anything to do with the company. Probably just a joke/troll with poor taste.
Apr 1st would be a really dumb day to start a new ad campaign on a platform explicitly created to escape corporate greed. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot...

There used to be a novelty account here called Margot Robbie. I like to imagine it was her, but also pretending its not her by using word choice that would suggest a fan account.

Someone needs to send this to that guy in the Comic Strips community who keeps cropping out artists' signatures because he thinks they're "ads".
He hates ads so much.
Very strange individual, even by Lemmy standards.

In some cases he has used AI to remove watermarks. It changed other details of the comic. Pretty gross.

Holy shit, I was just wondering how to vent about this shit. I vow that I will NEVER drink that dumbass drink ever again. This type of advertising gives me a personal grudge that, god forbid I ever have children, I will pass down through my fucking bloodline.
I mean, I don't actually want to talk you out of your vow there, but I'm fairly confident this was from a random troll with no affiliation to the actual company. Now I don't doubt they'd do it if they thought it would be profitable, but even if they did foolishly think this would work, I'd be shocked if we're even on their radar.

I just got this ad in this post.
I doubt that is a legitimate ad by the brand but rather some rando’s idea of a joke/troll and they’re gonna have to answer to the Coca-Cola company
Anyone who thinks the people at Coke's marketing department even know vaguely what the fediverse is are delusional.

Even as a joke, sending a real advertisement to people is completely unacceptable and deserves an immediate permanent ban. If they had created an ad for something fictional I'd be a little less annoyed about it but it still seems like a bad idea.

Even worse that the lazy ad programmer used AI to write the stupid ad. Society has failed.
