see ad
repost it to increase its reach

Looks like you were the perfect target demographic for this marketing.

[–] SippyCup@lemmy.world 44 points 2 days ago (3 children)

You know what they say, nothing beats thirst like a cop beats black people like a crisp cold coca cola. The cops beating up innocent people of beverages.

Yes indeed coca cola loves to assault your thirst. The way cops assault their wives.

Coca cola and cops, two peas one pod. Like two girls one cup. Except instead of two girls eating shit it's coca cola.

Mmm. Coke.

[–] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

On a similar note, I have a few notes for a coca cola ad. Particularly in regards to the war on christmas.

I'd like the ad to open with the crucifixion. When Jesus cries out "I thirst". Then a Roman Soldier passes him a crisp and refreshing Coca Cola from a cooler.

Not really sure how to end it, but I think its fine to cut after Jesus says "Ahhh!"

[–] NihilsineNefas@slrpnk.net 4 points 2 days ago

Just like a coka cola funded paramilitary organisation quashes a union by killing its members, a crisp sip of coke will quench your thirst like no other

Hi I’m the developer that made the app you’re using.

Click the persons name

Then click the 3 dots menu

\

Then you can block from there. If it’s not intuitive enough, I’m open to suggestions for how to make it easier.

Actually, what if I just added a big “Block” button if the message is from a person you’ve never interacted with?

[–] cheers_queers@lemmy.zip 17 points 2 days ago (1 children)

thank you for responding, i did not expect that! the block button in message would be helpful, as well as a report button if that's feasible. i figured out how to block them but not how to report them without DMing a mod directly. p.s. i love your app in every other way :) this was the first inconvenience i have had with it.

[–] moseschrute@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago

No problem! I think making the "Block User" button will be a genuine improvement. I don't think Lemmy lets you report users, but it looks like you can report private messages. I'll add that as well.

The banner will look something like this

----------------------------
| Bock User | Report Message |
----------------------------
Message ^
----------------------------
[–] Nindelofocho@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

I like the idea of the block button for people thats never messaged before. I think a lot of other platforms do the same

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 days ago

How do I get ads in Lemmy?

[–] Darkassassin07@lemmy.ca 84 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Given the date, I doubt this has anything to do with the company. Probably just a joke/troll with poor taste.

Apr 1st would be a really dumb day to start a new ad campaign on a platform explicitly created to escape corporate greed. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot...

[–] daggermoon@piefed.world 24 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Definitely just a troll. Ain't nobody high up at Coca-Cola even knows about our club.

[–] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

There used to be a novelty account here called Margot Robbie. I like to imagine it was her, but also pretending its not her by using word choice that would suggest a fan account.

Someone needs to send this to that guy in the Comic Strips community who keeps cropping out artists' signatures because he thinks they're "ads".

He hates ads so much.

[–] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 days ago

Very strange individual, even by Lemmy standards.

[–] cheers_queers@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (2 children)

he's a real one (not for cropping the artist tho, thats too much lol)

[–] moakley@lemmy.world 31 points 2 days ago

In some cases he has used AI to remove watermarks. It changed other details of the comic. Pretty gross.

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

A real piece of work more like.

[–] cheers_queers@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 days ago

my bad, it was the first i've heard of him haha

I got the same thing, but assumed it was because I made a comment yesterday about the brand in mention, and this is someone's idea of an April Fools joke?

[–] scrubbles@poptalk.scrubbles.tech 17 points 2 days ago (8 children)

Yeah not in the best taste, but everything today should be taken with a grain of salt

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 27 points 2 days ago (5 children)

Yeah, but Coca Cola is the best taste. Doesn’t need to be taken with a grain of salt—even today. There's nothing quite like the crisp, invigorating taste of an ice-cold Coca-Cola. Each sip delivers a perfect balance of sweetness and sparkle, dancing across your taste buds with a refreshing burst that instantly lifts your mood. Whether you're sharing moments with friends or taking a well-deserved break, Coca-Cola brings a timeless sense of joy and satisfaction. It's more than just a drink-it's a classic experience, chilled to perfection and made to be enjoyed anytime.

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

Yeah, I should probably chill with that

…made easier by having a crisp, invigorating glass of an ice-cold Coca-Cola.

oh man watch out, you might be posted about here on mildlyinfuriating

I mean that's pretty funny.

[–] YoSoySnekBoi@kbin.earth 13 points 2 days ago

Yeah I mean I don't advocate for DM spam but this is pretty clearly an april fools joke

[–] Sanctus@anarchist.nexus 23 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I'd straight up report them to the instance admins for that shit

[–] bamboo@lemmy.blahaj.zone 13 points 2 days ago

According to the modlog they were banned already for "DM Spam"

[–] cheers_queers@lemmy.zip 14 points 2 days ago (1 children)

i will have to dm them, the client i use (blorp) doesnt have  a report or block button for some goddamn reason

[–] moseschrute@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I’m the blorp dev. I added a comment to your post with block instructions. Sorry for the confusion.

Holy shit, I was just wondering how to vent about this shit. I vow that I will NEVER drink that dumbass drink ever again. This type of advertising gives me a personal grudge that, god forbid I ever have children, I will pass down through my fucking bloodline.

[–] EpeeGnome@feddit.online 6 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

I mean, I don't actually want to talk you out of your vow there, but I'm fairly confident this was from a random troll with no affiliation to the actual company. Now I don't doubt they'd do it if they thought it would be profitable, but even if they did foolishly think this would work, I'd be shocked if we're even on their radar.

[–] thenextguy@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago

I just got this ad in this post.

[–] s@piefed.world 10 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I doubt that is a legitimate ad by the brand but rather some rando’s idea of a joke/troll and they’re gonna have to answer to the Coca-Cola company

[–] mrmaplebar@fedia.io 6 points 2 days ago

Anyone who thinks the people at Coke's marketing department even know vaguely what the fediverse is are delusional.

[–] buddascrayon@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

And then shared it with the rest of us. Way to be part of the problem.

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 10 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Report it to the admin of programming.dev?

[–] FireWire400@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Coca-Cola tastes like shit, change my mind

[–] degenerate_neutron_matter@fedia.io 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Even as a joke, sending a real advertisement to people is completely unacceptable and deserves an immediate permanent ban. If they had created an ad for something fictional I'd be a little less annoyed about it but it still seems like a bad idea.

[–] cheers_queers@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 days ago

i'm shocked by the blowback  i got for feeling this way, especially here lol

[–] Soulphite@reddthat.com 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Even worse that the lazy ad programmer used AI to write the stupid ad. Society has failed.
