Is Thorium browser less battery and resource intensive than Google Chrome? (2020 M1 Air) (alien.top)

Noticed the battery was getting eaten up by Chrome, so I decided to look for another Chromium based browser that was more efficient, settled on Thorium. Definitely appears to load pages in faster, but still I am unsure if it really is more efficient in terms of battery usage.

Anecdotally speaking, I'm pretty certain Microsoft Edge is the least resource intensive browser but I'd rather die.
