Personally? I don't care about his opinion. But I do care about this. If this is how he feels then I'm real fucking glad he was denied of having any hand in Trek.

"I dislike social commentary ... I just want to watch Romulans and the Federation shoot at each other" does not seem to appear in the current version of article that's linked to. The source appears to be vocal.media / futurism. In context it does look plausible that he might've really said it — but it was 8 years ago.
