Welcome to Risa

All the pleasure of shore leave, none of the holodeck glitches.

Rule 1 — Be Civil, Not KlingonThis is a vacation planet, not the neutral zone.

  • No harassment, brigading, or trolling
  • No bigotry
  • Keep the banter playful, not hostile

Rule 2 — No Prohibited CargoSome things aren’t welcome aboard.

  • No spam or scams
  • No porn or sexually explicit content
  • No illegal content
  • NSFW memes must be properly tagged

Rule 3 — Keep It TrekPosts should be Star Trek memes or Trek-adjacent humor.

  • Crossovers are fine
  • Low-effort “unrelated” memes may be spaced out the nearest airlock

Rule 4 — Gatekeeping Belongs in a Black Hole
You’re welcome to have your own opinions on what counts as “real” Star Trek but forcing your view on others or pretending it’s the only valid one? That’s not the Starfleet way.
Everyone’s Trek is valid, from TOS purists to Lower Decks shitposters, and you don't get to dictate what is real or not for everyone.

If you see a post that violates the rules, or that doesn't inspire Jamaharon, report it so the mods can handle it.

Otherwise grab a horga’hn, order a Risan Mai Tai, and enjoy your shore leave.

I haven't seen a PowerPoint presentation since 2000.

People still use it?

How I envy you

With gusto. Some of the pptx files at my work manage to hit gigabytes in size. Certain segments of the corporate world live for it.

Ohhh yes they do! Military and government level do. I'm currently sitting in front of a team training that is death by powerpoint.

The company I work for has a hard on for ppt. I have to sit through at least 3 per week. Worst part is the chief training officer is addicted to chatgpt so every image is an AI abomination. The other day I asked him a serious question about a certain policy and he literally copy and pasted a response from chatgpt. This dude will probably quit speaking out loud all together by the end of the year.

The corporate world really likes them, one company I've worked for in the past would use Powerpoints instead of written reports. They're great for MBA's with no attention span.

When you need a graphic for a research project/paper PowerPoint typically works well enough to get the job done

Hah you're right Q could've just appeared at that spot like a splice in a film, which means he CHOSE to have the dazzle lens flare happen. Yup, sounds like Q

Typewriter sound for every letter in the words I speak.
