It seems to me the kaleidoscoping of the unity that rainbow flag aimed for doesn't make the community stronger. I feel the drive to have some constantly evolving all inclusive name and define each and every subset of queer hurts the brand. Instead of a united community there's tiny little fifedoms that are cliquey and far from universally welcoming. By so rigorously defining the individual the community gets lost and the message gets drowned in a see of voices yelling their specific flavour of gay.

It brings this joke to mind:

This is just my observation as an old out of touch cis guy with a queer daughter.
