Europe community on dbzer0. Intended to be a place to discuss European news, politics, or just general topics from a European perspective. Since this is on dbzer0 expect the community to lean more leftist-anarchist but a wide range of views are accepted here (within reason).

Rules:

1. No Bigotry or Hate SpeechAny forms of Homophobia, Transphobia, Queerphobia, Racism, or Ableism will be met with swift and harsh action and will not be tolerated here whatsoever. Bigots will be banned immediately on-sight. This includes apologia of it. Trying to be politely or intellectually bigoted i.e. "Just asking questions" won't be tolerated.

2. No ZionismAny forms of Zionism or Zionist rhetoric will not be tolerated here, this includes Zionist apologia, accusations of antisemitism towards anti-Zionists, or blatant denial or downplaying of the genocide towards Palestinians. Any attempt to uphold or prop up the IHRA definition of antisemitism, will be treated as Zionism. Anyone engaging in Pro-Zionist sentiment or apologia will be actioned in accordance with its severity.

Note: Trying to find loopholes or whataboutery to see what is or isn't genocide denial or Zionism will be treated as a violation of this rule. Don't test us.

3. Stay CivilPlease maintain civil discourse in the community. Do not engage in arguments with others, name-calling, or insults. Note that calling out bigotry or Zionism is not considered an insult. In heated arguments users are encouraged to or even required to disengage failure to do so will result in mod action.

4. No MisinformationSpreading of misinformation intentionally in this community is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Spreading misinformation hurts the credibility of the community and can mislead people sometimes in dangerous ways. Users who intentionally post misinformation as articles, comment answers, or in attempt to win arguments will be actioned swiftly.

Note: This includes Russian and Chinese propaganda. Users with a history of such posting will be banned on sight.

5. No AI ContentPlease do not post articles or content primarily created using generative AI. Generative AI content may contain misinformation or be lower quality and thus is discouraged. Posts and comments featuring it will be removed. However this community does not allow or tolerate Anti-AI trolling or hostility and users who engage in such behavior will be actioned for it, additionally Anti-AI trolling violates Rule 3 and often Rule 4 so it is generally unacceptable already.

Note: Rules 1 & 2 may be subject to preemptive mod action due to their severity, and they apply to a user's entire post history. Not just this community.

At this point getting Trump to tweet grumpy about your country it the sign that you've made it is a nation.

Oh no the administration who don't value their allies are mad at us. Big whoop, it's not as if being an ally of the US is even particularly beneficial anymore.

I love how he thinks this is negative PR for the people who he thinks is wronging him.

No you are telling me who deserves applause.

He's had the benefit of most of the American media running interference and translating (or whatever you call it) for him for several years now.

Edit: just think about stuff like the Epstein files taking a back seat to anything

(or whatever you can it)

Sane-washing. Pretending that the things coming out of his mouth aren't stupid or incomprehensible. If the news is pretending he makes sense, the country only knows he doesn't if they actually listen to him speak, and no one actually listens to him speak.

The US will remember lol

The US apparently forgot who helped them become an independent country

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 1 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

They forgot that shit the instant yorktown ended

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 1 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Of course, Americans don't learn their own history. You know the saying, in America 100 years is a long time.

[–] Soulg@ani.social 1 points 1 minute ago

I'm sorry we're younger than you as a country?

[–] Mycatiskai@lemmy.ca 20 points 16 hours ago

They forgotten that well before freedom fries was a thing.

[–] Einskjaldi@lemmy.world 5 points 13 hours ago

They could have pretended they were going for a legal military reason, Iran has done enough stuff to find a thin veener of casus belli. But they didn't even care to try and hide it.

Trump has been successfully eliminated?

[–] Aqarius@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

...No, seriously, who's it even supposed to be? The old Ayatolah is already dead, who's left to "will be" deal with?

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 1 points 3 hours ago

Anyway I thought that Trump was talking to "some powerful people who seem to be in charge".

Damn it, you made me giggle!

[–] guynamedzero@piefed.zeromedia.vip 30 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

He’s right, we will remember. We’ll remember how France helped stand up to an authoritarian regime despite that regime’s attempts at intimidation

[–] xav@programming.dev 2 points 4 minutes ago

Well we did it already for the Irak WMD episode. We've been called cheese-eating surrendering monkeys ever since. So in fact we don't care very much what the US thinks or remembers.

I mean if nothing else this is also the message No Kings protests are supposed to send in the US.

The attendance to them is massive for a reason.

Most people in the US hate Trump and his policies, yes that is a paradox, but also it is true in many ways too.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 9 points 12 hours ago

Every time he speaks it makes me think about how thrilled I will be to learn he's dead.

[–] BlameTheAntifa@lemmy.world 22 points 16 hours ago

We will remember your treason, you child raping murderer. We will remember every crony, accomplice, boot licker, and family member. Every last one will face justice.

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 2 points 10 hours ago

Why would they help with a guy who has already been eliminated? Problem solved, right?

[–] crunchy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 23 points 18 hours ago

I gave my attention to this matter and he didn't even say thank you!

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 7 points 15 hours ago

"Looks like Freedom Fries are back on the menu, boys!"

[–] tanisnikana@lemmy.world 14 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Oh good, by the time I got to the end of that, I forgot who wrote it. Thanks for the reminder, President Shitshimself.

[–] whyNotSquirrel@sh.itjust.works 9 points 18 hours ago

This asshole didn't even thanked me for my attention to this shatter

I think it's time France come and update the statue of Liberty. Gotta remove that torch and move palm to face.
