Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Just wants to be like his leader.

Same people who approve the passing of an Idaho law that is now in effect banning all trans people from any public restrooms other than their assigned birth sex.

They need you to look at innocent people and hate them, so they can keep diddling kids in the shadows.

Imagine living in a world where you're thinking "Will he? Won't he?" with regard to whether Trump will pardon him for this.

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 6 points 2 hours ago

Image how big trumps cp collection has been over the years

[–] Suavevillain@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

Average Trump cultists actives at this point.

[–] hperrin@lemmy.ca 14 points 12 hours ago

No wonder he liked Trump.

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 8 points 12 hours ago

Each and every one of them is likely this bad. Each and every one.

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 4 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Does he have a million bucks? I'm sensing a double pardon on the horizon

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 hours ago

Giuliani was selling pardons at $2M.

[–] SocialMediaRefugee@lemmy.world 46 points 21 hours ago (9 children)

Tocci's laptop "contained extremely disturbing images of violent acts, such as a cat being killed by being put in a blender, a male shooting a female in the head, a dog being beaten to death, and severed heads and limbs, as well as images and videos of bestiality.”

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 hours ago

Sounds like Kristi Noem's vacation house.

[–] osanna@lemmy.vg 16 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

this. this right here is why I'm so fucking depressed. A fucking blender? Holy shit, people fucking suck. This is why I'm fucking misanthropic. Animals don't deserve what humans do to them :/

[–] Regrettable_incident@lemmy.world 9 points 12 hours ago

Yeah. And this shit exists not only because someone wanted to do it and did it - but they went out of their way to film it for the enjoyment of others.

[–] EmpathicVagrant@lemmy.world 6 points 12 hours ago

Exactly. People keep saying to me ‘oh, just don’t read the news and you won’t be depressed’ and I just watch the matrix at work.

Not enough people want to be aware and that’s frankly as disgusting as supporting it, at this point.

[–] MML@sh.itjust.works 4 points 10 hours ago

I bet he was bitching about the Kirk thing too

[–] tinyvoltron@discuss.online 10 points 15 hours ago

I've seen a lot of shit in my several decades on this series of tubes. Somehow I missed every one of these. I am very ok with that.

[–] MonkeMischief@lemmy.today 45 points 20 hours ago

What a terrible day to be literate.

Sounds like he was a frequent 4chan user on /b/

The gif that made me quit 4chan in like 07 was a German shepherd getting hit in the face with a shovel.

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 4 points 17 hours ago

Wow, that’s so burned in my brain that your sentence makes me see it 20 years later.

[–] NikkiDimes@lemmy.world 5 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

Ugh. I know the exact gif you're talking about...

trump personally reviewing the evidence

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 62 points 1 day ago (1 children)

trump's thought process during the evaluation:

"Got it, got it, need it, got it, got it, need it, got it, need it."

It's always the ones you suspect the most

[–] notwhoyouthink@lemmy.zip 9 points 22 hours ago

Yeah almost like there’s some sort of saying about this, in the vein of bird comradery. Or maybe shitty people who do shitty things attract each other.

[–] the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world 53 points 22 hours ago

Pedophiles protecting pedophiles.

[–] finallymadeanaccount@lemmy.world 1 points 10 hours ago

As is tradition.

[–] itisileclerk@lemmy.world 22 points 20 hours ago

Well that IS one of the reasons why Trump padroned him, he is his pedopal.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 52 points 23 hours ago (2 children)

Daniel Tocci's attorney had previously argued that the case should be dismissed because “all the evidence" stemmed from his Capitol siege case.

Why? It's not double jeopardy. It's a new charge based on legally collected evidence.

Because he gets paid a lot of money to make shit up and lie lmao

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 20 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

They think that because they were pardoned the investigation was illegal.

[–] EmpathicVagrant@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago

That’s what the second part dismisses with explanation, I believe the why was simply rhetorical to respond to the thought.

[–] MML@sh.itjust.works 1 points 10 hours ago

Does he have children? Cause if so a call to CPS is in order

[–] Fives@discuss.online 45 points 23 hours ago (4 children)

I seem to remember seeing other stories like this about Jan 6 rioters and child porn. WTF is wrong with people?

[–] OhStopYellingAtMe@lemmy.world 3 points 10 hours ago

Lack of empathy. Sociopaths.

[–] leadore@lemmy.world 30 points 21 hours ago

It finally answers the question, "Why do all those people vote for this pedophile?"

[–] N0t_5ure@lemmy.world 37 points 23 hours ago

Well, they are Trump supporters....

Was it on the White House server?

[–] Ledivin@lemmy.world 27 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Only 4 years for yet another pedophile... Love our justice system, so effective 🙄

[–] halcyoncmdr@piefed.social 18 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

Yet another case of... if you do it a little you get the book, if you do it a lot you get a slap on the wrist.

I distinctly remember other cases where EVERY image/video got a separate charge...

A man pardoned by President Donald Trump for his actions on Jan. 6 has been sentenced for possessing more than 100,000 child sexual abuse images and videos discovered in connection with his Capitol riot case.

100,000 charges doesn't seem to add up to 4 years in any way.

Federal prosecutors wrote in a sentencing memo in the child pornography case that, in addition to the child sex abuse material, Tocci's laptop "contained extremely disturbing images of violent acts, such as a cat being killed by being put in a blender, a male shooting a female in the head, a dog being beaten to death, and severed heads and limbs, as well as images and videos of bestiality.”

Feels like that should have factored into sentencing as well. Although now as I think of it... all of that is just a regular day on the old 4chan. Although saving them for later is definitely excessive.

[–] catbum@lemmy.world 14 points 21 hours ago

Jfc. There is nothing that makes my blood boil more than torture of innocent animals and children.

I've also seen local no-name pedos get 20+ years for less than 20 images/charges. Seriously, why do economy-sized buckets of horror net a discount on justice? Fucking disgraceful.

Justice would be this dude taking a trip through a blender. At the very least, 25 to life.

They claim they were just holding it for a president.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Honestly surprised this hasn't happened more often.

[–] NewNewAugustEast@lemmy.zip 5 points 15 hours ago

As of Jan 6 2026, there were at least 33 people pardoned for their role in the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot have been convicted of, charged with or arrested in connection with additional crimes since the attack.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 10 hours ago

probably gathering evidence on others, like if theres a CP ring going on.

[–] homes@piefed.world 25 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Hasn’t it? Because I seem to remember reading this headline on previous occasions, more than once.
