I'm honestly surprised it's not the #1 most pirated movie of all time exactly for this reason.

I wouldnt even take it as a gift from my greatest enemy.
My storage is too precious to waste it on that

I’m actually watching it at this moment while I work. Only 15 minutes left, thank goodness.

Even if you look past all the BS that is that family, it's honestly just boring more than anything. Lots of long walks with music and a monologue. The first 20 minutes is a long walk then a scene in a single room where she’s trying on 2-3 outfits. The conversations seem forced and bordering scripted in places, kind of like reality tv. In the middle, they introduced her father and how he always filmed on an old film camera, so of course they started editing it to look like it’s filmed on an old camera. Which is really weird, it’s obviously edited and jumps between normal and editing with no changes to angle or anything. Just very tacky gold plated everything everywhere.

A few lines here and there that made me roll my eyes. A few scenes of him saying the same old dumb shit he says. It’s more boring and overproduced than anything.

Diving back in to finish off this hot mess of a propo….erm “documentary”

Edit: Just finished it. The last 15 mins are mostly just a photo shoot of her in the White House. That was boring and I’m glad I was working while it was on. Off to watch Eega to wash my eyeballs.

Maybe I’m dumb, but how do you ‘honey pot your friends’ with it?

[–] cecilkorik@lemmy.ca 5 points 21 hours ago

I interpreted it to mean "troll your friends with it" and I just took that and ran with it, but honestly I have no idea and I might be completely wrong, that's what I'm going to stick with though.

I think the idea is that any friend who actually watches it might need to go to the ex friend list. I could see hate watching it or watching to laugh as valid reasons though.

[–] LadyMeow@lemmy.blahaj.zone 31 points 1 day ago

But if I had it… then wouldn’t I be the ex friend? Like for having it?

Personally I’d delete that trash. :p

You can see who is downloading from you. Granted, that's only IP

Maybe give it a different title and share it and watch chaos ensue?

[–] ozymandias@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago

Why not give it 100 different titles and append the beginning of 100 different movies to the beginning of it to Melania-roll your friends?

Nah

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 3 points 1 day ago

I renamed it to Bee Movie.

The movie about Melania Trump I'd think

I remembered it was bought by some conglomerate, but it's my 20-year-old muscle memory, old habits die hard. But this moviedb doesn't have a trivia section, that's what I read usually on imdb. Is there an alternative with similar information? Or do I need to look for an alternative frontend, if I need similar content?
