1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of “discuss” rarely comply with this rule.

2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.

3. Avoid repetitive topics.

4. This isn't an advice forum

Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.

There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

Some other communities to consider before posting:

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.

6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.

7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with “So” - starting a post with pointless phrases, like “I hope this is allowed” or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

Living on my own, the older I get, the less I have any interest in proper meals. More often than not, I'll do small snackish meals spread out over the day; a bowl of meat and cheese, or a plate of veggies, or some cottage cheese and yogurt. Stuff like that.

I can't be the only one for whom traditional meals (protein, side, veggies, three times a day) have gone by the wayside.

ETA: Forgot to mention, that bowl looks incredibly delicious, OP.

I, too live on my own and am aging!

Same... making a traditional meal for 1 is difficult. You either have to buy small quantities of items for a way higher price, or you have to buy things in bulk and figure out how you can consume or store(freeze) the item for later.

Then if you are trying to make a full course meal, you end up with enough food for 4-6 so you have to eat the same meal back to back to back to try and eat it before it goes bad.

Give it up. What's the keyboard???

Also, love green olives and feta cheese is my spirit animal!

You rock! And for real, that looks like a healthy, albeit non-traditional dinner! If you've never tried it, salami + mild pepperoncinis are an excellent combo that I find myself trying to add as pizza toppings now!

Thanks for the answer, friend! :)

Dawg that looks kick ass, I'd definitely order a charcuterie bowl.

[–] statler_waldorf@sopuli.xyz 17 points 1 day ago

Round here we call that Antipasto dinner. I'll stack a bunch of pickled stuff, meats, cheese, fruit, veggies, and crackers or bread on the cutting board and let everyone make a plate. It's fast, the kids love it, and it can be as simple or as fancy as we want.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 3 points 1 day ago

That looks delicious.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 13 points 1 day ago

Charcuterie bowl.

[–] Blackfeathr@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Dinner looks tasty, and I really dig your keyboard

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago

"Ooohhh!! You had a bowl!!" (Monty Python reference).

[–] dandelion@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 day ago (2 children)

we call that girl dinner, sweaty

[–] protist@retrofed.com 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Is the dinner sweaty or is OP?

[–] dandelion@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 day ago

OP is obviously the sweaty 😉

[–] late_list@piefed.zip 3 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Sometimes copping out with an easy dinner is perfectly valid, no reason to go assuming people have overactive sweat glands because of it

[–] grue@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

It's an intentional misspelling of "sweetie," as a meme.

(Or maybe you knew that and I'm the one who got whooshed.)

Your setup looks great :) And the food looks good too

E: I have been looking at Keychron bc I need another keeb (not a replacement, an additional one). Need to research the model names more (Q, G, B, whatever else there was). I gave my Ducky to {{acquaintance_in_need}} a bit ago. Right now rocking the Glorious but Linux support is non-existent afaik (for adjusting backlights etc). Otherwise I like it, but would like a Keychron.

I've tried a couple glorious boards and don’t care for them. The Keychron metal body boards (like the Q series) are the best I have found in terms of overall quality, consistency, customizeability, durability….really everything. But I have to resist buying more as I want to get an ergo split board, and its $500 lol.

[–] LainTrain@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 day ago

yoo that looks awesome

[–] OwOarchist@pawb.social 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Add half a small loaf of nice, fresh baked bread, and now that's a meal.

Had I had any, I would have!

How many people are in your family?

Need a grain or some cheesy grits in the morning

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 day ago (2 children)

One, including me. I did give my dog two pieces of feta.

[–] ohlaph@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

one, including me

I'm dying. Lol

[–] DancingBear@midwest.social 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

That’s a lot of oil based stuff. You’ll need something to slow it down in the morning or your stool will probably be loose

Looks delicious though
