A high-ranking allied diplomat at the United Nations has suspended all official duties after alleging that the international organization is currently preparing for a scenario involving the active use of nuclear weapons against Iran. Mohamad Safa, who has served as the Permanent Representative of the Patriotic Vision Organization (PVA) to the UN for nearly twelve years, issued a public resignation notice on X, claiming he could no longer remain a "witness to this crime against humanity."

If nukes get used I think that means you don't need to listen to or respect your governments anymore.

Way ahead of ya, internet friend.

I mean, they un preparing for the use a of a nuke is smart, with trump being the little piss baby that he is, he really wants to drop a bomb, so being prepared for the fallout, both litteral and geopolitical is a wise choice.

It's not because he's a bitch. He's so obsessed with LEGACY and his name being on SOMETHING that he'll do it just because the headlines will read "Trump deploys weapon not used since 1945".

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Yes, but, he wants the legacy because he is a little piss baby

The article also says

Safa’s departure comes amid intensifying West Asia hostilities and includes specific accusations that senior UN leadership is suppressing dissent to serve a "powerful lobby" that he claims is engineering a pro-war sentiment through a systemic misinformation campaign regarding Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

That is really alarming.

Gee, i wonder who the powerful lobby group is. All Indications Point At a Certain country.

What? You think this rumor of a powerful, politically-motivated, shadow faction is real?

If people think Trump hasn't openly pushed for dropping a nuclear bomb on Iran in meetings with his advisors along with Stephen Miller they are fools.

If people think Israel and Netanyahu aren't itching to drop a nuclear bomb on Iran they are fools.

The moment this thing started it had 2 options: A) Trump doing a hit and run and pulling out in a few days or a week or B)

Continue to be blackmailed by bibi’s zionist club of Armageddon nutcases, and in an endless effort to seek attention and doing a very expensive “suicide by cop” dropping tactical nukes on Iran.

Since A didn’t happen it is B.

The UN prepping for this seems like a logical step. I don’t know how such an organisation prepping for this very likely scenario equates to participation.

Sounds more like a dude that was going to get fired and wanted to save face to me.

Reading this, in the context of Albanese finally coming out and being more forthright about the US' intentions than he's been so far, I find alarming.

Suddenly makes me wonder if the Australian Government has been alerted to a specific risk identified with the US' intentions.

The prime minister has said he wants a clear outline from the US as to what it wants to achieve in Iran. 7:30 - ABC

Edit: Would they consider nuking Kharg island? Considering POTUS saying "he wants Iran's oil?"

For shits sakes, a thousand conspiracy theories, like the links I'm drawing, could be built around this idiocy to numb the poiniency of the risk.
