!nostupidquestions is a community dedicated to being helpful and answering each others' questions on various topics.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules (interactive)

Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.

All posts must be legitimate questions, and all post titles must include a question. Questions that are joke or trolling questions, memes, song lyrics as title, etc. are not allowed here. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.

Rule 2- Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material.

Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Questions which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts and joke questions.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.

If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.

Rule 7- You can't intentionally annoy, mock, or harass other members.

If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

It would really help people answering if you explain what you mean.

Large how?

If you mean the NyQuil pill size...........you DO realize you can buy liquid NyQuil that you just toss back a shot of, right?

[–] thermal_shock@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Maybe OP thinks they're suppositories?

[–] wendigolibre@lemmy.zip 11 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Maybe OP doesn't like the size of the NyQuil bottle? No stupid questions, but maybe there are questions too vague to be answered?

[–] AnchoriteMagus@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

If they're asking, they're expecting an answer, which impresses upon us at least a minimal responsibility to try and figure out what they mean, right?

What's your solution? "I don't understand the question, so screw this guy."?

Yeah, that’s exactly right, if I’m asked a question that doesn’t make sense, I’ll ask a clarifying question, if they don’t provide a suitable answer, then fuck ‘em

The only ingredient worth a damn in that stuff is Tylenol. Just take Tylenol.

[–] thermal_shock@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Ibuprofen works better in my opinion. 600-800mg chills me the fuck out.

You could just get a smaller thing of Nyquil... Look for a travel size bottle. Or take the pills.

If you’re looking to fall asleep then just take a Benadryl capsule. Anything with diphenhydramine will do the trick.

That shit is so bad for you, do not use antihistamines for sleep

Bro, water is bad for us. Everything in moderation. Choose your poison, live life.

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It's really not harmful, it's just not a good sleep aid because it causes poor sleep quality and potential drowsiness the next day.

[–] ryannathans@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago (2 children)

First generation antihistamines, I.e. those used for sleep, are now known to cause large increased risk of dementia

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 2 points 1 day ago

They aren't known to cause anything. A study showed a correlation, but that doesn't mean causation.

[–] Apytele@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago

At this point working in psychiatry I've lost count of the number of things that cause dementia. Some part of my body is gonna break down first and I haven't decided which part I'm least afraid of yet, but when I do the solution is probably just going to be doing more of whatever will help it beat dementia to the punch.

The hatman and his spiders have arrived

I used to struggle with insomnia. It's no longer a struggle, ive given up. But one thing I used to do was BoxOfFeet's Sleepytime Cocktail. Which was two Benadryl, 10mg of melatonin, and a double shot of tequila. And man, I'd be out late into the next day. One time until noon.

[–] thesohoriots@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I had one I called a “slambien.” Ambien, lorazepam, and Benadryl. It sadly didn’t always work. But then there’s always seroquel if you never want to wake up again.

[–] BoxOfFeet@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Lorazepam never did anything for me. But Duloxetine actually made me damn near narcoleptic. I fell asleep at my desk at work before. And, unfortunately, that's not one to take as needed
