why would he instruct Adam and Eve not to eat the apple?
When he knew the apple wasn't good for them, why wouldn't he tell them?
Recall that there were two trees: the Tree of Life was okay, the Tree of Knowledge was not. Why? Because if they had both the ability to live forever and the knowledge of good and evil, they would be like gods.
One, can't have competition. Two, then they would see how fucking awful Yahweh was and be able to do something about it. Once they had the knowledge, that apparently couldn't be taken away (?), so deprive them of eternal life and make them suffer as a distraction from what they know is true; Yahweh is a dick.

It was omnipotent until he created the free will. It's now close-to-omnipotent.

How do I know that is not written by some devil spirited no good doer?
We take Adam's and Eve's word that that voice was God. But how can they know that it was the creator god?
