Yes, all the time. But then I realise they are making good products and trying to change the world and that isn't free.
Proton makes a freemium product, which means the paid users need to subsidise the free users. For every 10 (or however many) free users join, a paid user needs to join as well to keep making it work.
Proton has sales all the time. They are hoping that with all the shit in the news about Apple, Google, and Microslop, you will eventually pay Proton because you realise Proton isn't one of the bad guys.
If the ratio of free to paid users keeps going up, they have to do something and no one wants them to shut down. They also don't want to raise the prices for premium users. So what's left? Encourage the free users some more.
