I want more alt history retro-future style movies.

This one and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow are neat.

I tried watching sky captain and she fell asleep. How can you fall asleep while watching a p51 mustang fight giant flying robots?

Well, for all its glorious Fleischer cartoon vibes and blatant Miyazaki "borrowings" - it follows the format of the old time movie serial to a fault and that might not be everyone's cup of tea.

That's okay, you can be wrong, I won't judge you.

It certainly has its slow moments, but overall it's a good movie, I think.

I loved this movie when I was a kid.

Jennifer Connelly was a goddamn smoke show.

Billy Campbell was a slab of 100% grade A man steak.

Funny thing is that JC's character is toned down for the movie. In the comics she's basically Bettie Page. I mean literally.
