And this is why I don't feel like I can watch the new Harry Potter series. It would be one thing if Rowling's views weren't having a real harmful impact on people. But trans people are facing likely genocide in the near future because people like Rowling spread hate and misinformation. Transphobic people will watch the genocide happen and they will continue to ignorantly laugh and say trans people are playing pretend and that they aren't victims of any hate or discrimination

Awesome sign, but...where did they find such a large piece of cardboard?
Fridge
You can buy rolls, or just long folded pieces for packing moving trucks.
A related measure advancing through the legislature would compel providers to submit extensive details about care, including age, treatments, and geographic data, to the state, which would then publish aggregated reports. While the bill bars the release of directly identifying information, privacy experts warn that the level of detail could still make individuals identifiable, particularly in smaller communities.
Not, fund, not study, not regulate, not analyze, collect and publish.
Data does not need to include name address and phone number to be personally identifying. Furthermore, how is it that the state can compel the collection of extremely private health information?
This is designed to endanger trans people and discourage them from seeking medical care.
Wanna bet that they're going to use a third party company that "wasn't supposed to" store PII, and that "no one could have known" about this issue until there's a "data breach" and leak?
Do you guys remember when they wouldn't track COVID infections early on to warn people of possible exposure because of privacy rights? Yeah, apparently those privacy rights vanish when it comes to transgender people.
The staggering hypocrisy of the lawmakers that claim the data is going to be anonymized is shocking. If you want your data anonymized, why would you track location and provider? It's like pointing a finger straight at the people that use that care.
This looks like an attempt to kill transgender care by making it impossible to get any, or too dangerous. All because some people have been brainwashed into recognizing another non-existent enemy. All transgender people want is the right to exist in peace, and the "party of personal responsibility" should really be able to respect that.
Minimally.
One does not need to be exceptionally imaginative to think about what things could be done by a christofascist government with the vaguest cover of law. They’ve already tried to float taking guns from all transgender people due to a single shooting. We know that simply by being known to law enforcement that they will target you for harassment and create charges or “confidential criminal informant” testimony to justify destroying your property (see AfroMan) without any means for you to seek compensation or breaking into your home in the middle of the night and murdering you.
Hey I've seen this one!
Ridiculous and evil
Here's hoping it does not pass the Senate.
Queers too.
They always forget the pink triangles when talking about the Holocaust
I never forget the pink triangles. Nor have I forgotten about the stars. Fuck Nazis.
They didn't forget. They wilfully obscured while taking notes.
Shame! I fear this will not end well. 😔
I don’t live there. I am not a transgender person. If everyone signs up. It could overwhelm the system? I was born in Tennessee, a straight white male like 50 years & a couple more ago. But go ahead sign me up because I am identifying with all the due rage of another gender & race. It doesn’t matter. PUT ME ON THE LIST! I’ll disappoint you quicker than I can my wife.
The Nazis put more than just queer folks in camps. They also murdered communists and anyone aligned with their enemies.
No, adding text to a database will not overwhelm their system.
You getting murdered does not help the opposition. Fight them while protecting your identity. Stay safe.
The idea here is not overloading their database infrastructure literally, but putting so much nonsense info in there that all of the collected data is useless. For example... an insane amount of cis people.
Not living in the same state seems to be pretty safe to me btw. There is no way being safe all the time while fighting and resisting... Hell, even living in general is quite dangerous. One has to choose what in their life is worth taking a risk.
Disgusting
