Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

…for poor people. He's doing great for his Epstein-class buddies.

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago (3 children)

Although he effectively got rid of the penny. I'll give him the tiny amount of credit due there.

[–] vpol@feddit.uk 23 points 6 days ago (1 children)

You mean he left you penniless?

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago

Also true :(

[–] northendtrooper@lemmy.ca 15 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Which now he is putting himself on coin, violating a 180+ year old law.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 2 points 5 days ago

And his signature on paper currency.

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

The least of his crimes, which more than overcomes the killing of the penny. Was just giving him that miniscule credit anyway. heh

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 0 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

I like the penny. Killing the penny is just one reason I hate him.

Daylight Savings Time is another matter.

[–] TwilitSky@lemmy.world 42 points 6 days ago (2 children)

All of you realize he doesn't know what groceries are, right? He literally doesn't understand the definition of the word. As far as he understands, food just magically appears prepared shortly after he wants it. He knows food is in the grocery store but thinks it's tightly controlled by strict ID checking.

[–] Wytch@lemmy.zip 12 points 6 days ago (1 children)

He knows exactly where food comes from. Out of the drive up window.

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 11 points 6 days ago

No, the food comes from his servants who get it from wherever it comes from. That is why he likes room temperature mcdonalds.

[–] Gork@sopuli.xyz 9 points 6 days ago

Everybody knows it's just a bag with different things in it.

You have it all wrong guy's In trumptopia everything is upside down and backwards and opposite all at the same time. Yes, it's confusing to the smart, sane people and that's the point.

His dumbfuck base thinks everything is all hunkydory and WE'RE the deranged ones.

[–] DMCMNFIBFFF@lemmy.world 10 points 6 days ago

4chan (back when I visited that sight a few years ago) referred to him as "god emperor", so yes.

Cult 45.

[–] SnotFlickerman@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Arguably, all cults are for dumb people, but that's not that important right now.

[–] Soulphite@reddthat.com 8 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I just wish they'd all get to the smart part of the cult stage and drink the Flavor Aid.

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Full points for getting the drink right

[–] Soulphite@reddthat.com 5 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Thank you, I am a bit cultured.

[–] cyberpunk007@lemmy.ca 16 points 5 days ago

He has no idea what he's doing and most of us knew that before the rest voted him in lol

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 18 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Of course he did, he's virtuosically incompetent. No matter what he does, the result is always the opposite of his objective. He's that stupid.

[–] chaogomu@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago

There's one assumption you seem to have that's wrong.

Trump only ever has one objective. More money and more attention for Trump.

He doesn't care about anything else, even though he often claims otherwise.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 1 points 5 days ago

He's doing exactly what the billionaire ruling party wants. His only incompetence with it is his crudity.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 17 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Trump Promised X. He Made X Worse.

[–] cmbabul@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

Technically Elon did that I thought

[–] Tyrq@lemmy.dbzer0.com 15 points 6 days ago

Every time he talks about things getting better, it's probably best if you imagine he's talking to billionaires, instead of people

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 1 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Not like that! Like this!

Worse, or better? His friends who dabble in the quaint art of running grocery conglomerates don't complain when they call to bribe him.

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 4 points 5 days ago

I would offer that he has made EVERYTHING worse.

[–] BigMacHole@thelemmy.club 8 points 6 days ago

I JUST got back From the Grocery Store where I paid almost $200 MORE for Groceries since last Year but TRUMP told me Prices are DOWN so this headline is an ILLEGAL PROPAGANDA against TRUMP!

-Literally EVERY Free Thinking Republican!

[–] Reygle@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago

Every word he's spoken in the last decade was horseshit.

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 5 points 6 days ago

It's going to be even worse with the war with Iran. Here is a wonderful, detailed article on the various impacts the war is going to or is likely to have on various food supplies.

[–] hanrahan@slrpnk.net 1 points 4 days ago

this os what winning looks like folks, so much winning

[–] DMCMNFIBFFF@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

It's a sacrifice by the American people that MAGAts are willing to make.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 1 points 5 days ago

USA version of Rhodes foods

[–] johncandy1812@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 days ago

"There's going to be a bit of discomfort while we kill off the poorest people in the world but we'll be better off in the future."

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 0 points 6 days ago

Grocery isn't even a real word.
