But James Kariuki, the UK chargé d’affaires to the UN, said Britain continues to disagree with fundamental propositions of the text and was “firmly of the view that we must not create a hierarchy of historical atrocities”.

This does indeed invite a whole flurry of what-about comments and resolutions: "Are the Slavs getting a resolution? What about X, what about Y?"

Yeah...no surprises here. Argentina isn't usually part of the club, but Milei is a nutjob, so yeah, no surprises.

The difference between Argentinian and American nutjobs is that American nutjobs are running a petrostate with one of the two real navies in the world.

I'm onboard, but I think genocide might be worse.

I think the argument would be that slavery is also often genocidal but yeah this is a competition best served with a "worst crimes" list instead of tier list.

But, also, that list already exists...
