Like you're running typical business software on either of those.

As compared to the tens of thousands of Windows machines in a single business.

Yes, you can run all sorts of virtualization - such as App-V in the early 2000's. You're still going to use Windows desktops because that's what your expertise and centralized management is built around.

Who writes this garbage?

I hate windows as much as the next guy, but you're not wrong.
