Maybe getting an Apple Watch Series 3 isn't a very good idea, it has been unsupported by the latest OS last year.

A series 3 is absolutely terrible to use even if technically compatible. I’ve seen the original SE on sale for $150 new at Walmart, that would be a much, much better choice longevity wise.

Get a least a 4 or an SE, I would recommend a 6 for always on display, and a 7 if you can afford it. If cost is an option keep an eye on woot / ebay for refurbished that are close to new condition (usually at least 85% battery health) and have been certified functional by a tech.
