Don't be too rough with each other! We're here to appreciate, and sometimes lightly rib, Tolkien's fantastic creation, and all of its derivative works. Arguments happen, but remember, in the words of Tolkien, that food and cheer and good song are what make a merrier world!

So the Dead Marshes were the site of the great battle of Dagorlad, with the dead buried in layers of peat and water. Over time organic matter decays into fossil fuels. So Middle-earth gasoline is not refined from dinosaurs but from dead elves
The first elf that died did so because her son was an insufferable shit. The elves had no idea what the fuck had just happened. She lay down in the garden, announced that her son had sucked all the life out of her, and returned to the Halls of Mandos where she cried a lot.
They tended to her unrotting body for centuries before realizing she wasn't coming back.
When her son died, it's said his body just disintegrated to ash from the fire of his spirit leaving.
So I'm not sure what the hell happens to elves when they die. Maybe nothing, maybe a violent exothermic reaction. Maybe oil!
Obviously we need to kill a few thousand more and find out.
Can confirm. Gas prices in New Zealand are insane.
van (noun): 2. the foremost part of a group of people moving or preparing to move forwards, especially the foremost division of an advancing military force
Example: in the van were the foremost chiefs and some of the warriors astride horses
Fun fact, van Is just an abbreviation of vanguard.
..is vanguard just a shortening of "advance guard"?
The roads are terrible
Boromir needs it back so he can give lifts to stranded ringwraiths.
Boromir it was that drove the enemy at last back from this western shore.
South of the river at this time?
Happy cake day!
