Where I live, there are entire homeless encampments, like little villages of tents and tarps.
Fentanyl is said to be a big part of the problem. Meth was already a huge problem by itself.
So long story short drug war= heroin and cocaine scarcity= cheap quickly available chemical alternatives like meth and fentanyl= addiction spiral increase= poor and homeless= Windows can't open a window without lagging. IT'S IN THE NAME YOU CAN'T EVEN DO IT

This is a funny meme and all but allow me to ruin the fun. This kind of small scale thievery in the absence of actual systemic change just leads to things being more expensive for the common person.
Do you not remember the 90s where food spoilage, warehouse theft, and petty shoplifting were rife? And yet, whaddayaknow, the retailers still made profit with their low prices.
Retailers jacking up their prices under the pretense of covering theft losses and the public lapping it up is the best mind trick they've pulled yet.
