Data Hoarder

We are digital librarians. Among us are represented the various reasons to keep data -- legal requirements, competitive requirements, uncertainty of permanence of cloud services, distaste for transmitting your data externally (e.g. government or corporate espionage), cultural and familial archivists, internet collapse preppers, and people who do it themselves so they're sure it's done right. Everyone has their reasons for curating the data they have decided to keep (either forever or For A Damn Long Time (tm) ). Along the way we have sought out like-minded individuals to exchange strategies, war stories, and cautionary tales of failures.

After almost losing 1tb of data (luclly not too important as it turned out) I now decided that enough is enough and started to deploy an agressive backup strategy.

Beside OG , i have a copy on a seperate drive internal. Currently moving stuff over to my freshly build nas today. Also Everything will be moved to my 5tb external drive.

On top i buy 2x cloud storage on google drive for 60a year. One on my wifes account and one for mine.

Those will be for the absolut non replacable stuff. 200gb each cloud storage

Question now is, how do i make sure it stays organized? Im looking for pointers for file hirachy. Root/ Backup - pictures / videos / movies / documents / savefiles / exported profiles (browser and such) / appdata

Is that a good apporach?

I will probably buy the backblaze personal version, and let it backup my 5tb external hdd as well.

Whats a good plan / where do i start? So far i have been panik duplicating my backups on as many discs as possible.

In my truenas scale i have 2x 6tb (mirror) From what i understand is that backblaze offers backups from Nas aswell. Quite cheap but retrival will be expensive?

What cost would i have to face in worst case? 6tb for example
