Just heard the news, former director of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation, Robert Swan Mueller III has died at the age of 81. Man, what a jawline.

[–] Shrubbery@piefed.social 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This three letter agency man was behind the investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

yeah, i got a few three letter agency friends. most are folk i grew up with who graduated and went into the TLAs, a few are parents of friends. They were all weird, but like good weird. Same weird i think i'd describe most of the folk on here if we'd meet in person. Smart, capable, quirky, self-confident, very very much themselves and their own person. Less into politics, there for the job. The reason I wasn't recruited is because I'm on several lists they track: disabled, leftist (i started and ran a communism club in high school. it was basically an absurdist young republicans, all but one of us have become leftist over the years weirdly enough but we all were very conservative back then. we just called it communism club because it irritated a teacher we didn't like. Resist!), former cultist, jazz musician, consorted with clowns, like i can go on for why they tried to keep me out of the three letter agencies and with good reason but i fit the profile for the type they recruit is what i'm trying to say just i failed on account of having had a life.

bob mueller looked very tired, but i bet he cleaned. up. at board game night

Is...is Bullock based on Mueller? I guess I never actually looked deeper into the McFarlane parody twins than just the surface plots

Someone needs to check Mueller's attic for a fabulous alien with severe alcoholism?

Yeah its been awhile since I've seen American Dad.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

i should probably give it another try. Family Guy just rubbed me so much the wrong way that i skipped it entirely, but Orville had so much heart i should not dismiss McFarlane (MacFarlane? I'm too lazy to google right now. Mr. Seth) just because one project didn't land right.

American Dad is sort of like if the first 3 seasons of Family Guy kept going, but replace the cutaway gag comedy with social commentary. I enjoy all of Seth's stuff (Including the Orville, still waiting on Season 4 to start filming), although I will admit some of it is not for everyone. I still watch the new Family Guy seasons, but its like eating fast food. You know it used to be made better, and you know there are better options, bit its comfortable so you still do it.
