Apple's latest watch update has effectively made useless many versions of their watch from SE to the latest generations, mine included. The issue includes lightning fast battery drain & overheating while charging. This is a outrageous & no word nor fixes provided. Mine will not charge without being off. Otherwise it either charges enough to stay at a low amount or just overheats. I have a Series 6 that used to last all day and now barely two hours of not even using it (just being on my arm). I have several other watches from them I am keeping offline to avoid this fiasco.

I have an AW5, and the latest update caused excess battery drain for one day. And it’s been back to normal since. 85% battery life.

I can add my wife's latest Series 9 was partially affected but appears fine for now, also I have read a lot of other user's some of which have the Ultra who are affected. It doesn't seem to be everybody but it sure is a lot of people and models. I do not want to test it on my other older watch models and mess those up (not all can be updated to this version but anyhow).

I got the latest update just last week and my charge now only lasts for 3-4 hours utmost vs almost a day before :/

Yeah, it’s wild! The 2 main causes I’ve seen are either a random 3rd party app, or if the iPhone isn’t on iOS. Seems like pretty obvious things you would test in QA.

Fortunately I had my S4 set NOT to auto-update, so I’m holding off now until a fix is released!
