I have now deemed this true in my head cannon.

[–] jumperalex@lemmy.world 66 points 2 weeks ago (4 children)

If it really is true, I cannot stress enough just how bad it is. Like, really really bad.

[–] Devadander@lemmy.world 44 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Good. It’s a farce and should be treated as such

[–] tmyakal 39 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Halfway Post is a satire site. This is not true.

[–] jumperalex@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

yeah I didn't figure it was true. but had to say it still just in case. And whoever wrote it knew what they were implying / trying to generate internet feelings. Because again, it would be epic bad if troops in training, this early in, were THAT cynical.

Do you load that with regular cannonballs?

[–] NoForwadSlashS@piefed.social 7 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Too small for that, you have to load it with regular balls.

every time they salute each other

That's how you know for sure it's fake. Soldiers in training don't salute each other. They only salute officers.

[–] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

God damnit, I wanted this to be true so badly.

[–] CH3DD4R_G0BL1N@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 week ago

If it makes you feel better, it is 100% something marines would do (not the saluting). At least until higher ups started threatening

[–] AlDente@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

You can be training for an invasion without being in basic training, or are we to assume there are no continuous improvement efforts in the military?

[–] OwOarchist@pawb.social 20 points 2 weeks ago (12 children)

Who said anything about basic training?

Soldiers don't go around saluting each other, no matter what stage of training they're in.

You can also tell it's fake because of common sense. But that's a rare trait these days.

It's better than 6 7 because it actually means something

[–] bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de 31 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

It doesn't mean anything if they still commit war crimes.

[–] FilthyShrooms@lemmy.world 30 points 2 weeks ago

Nah it just means they're willing to commit crimes against humanity for the Epstein class

[–] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 8 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah but, they're committing war crimes ironically.

[–] 48954246@lemmy.world 19 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

67 is fine. It took me a while to realise that.

It has exactly the same rules as The Game except you win when you hear 67. I think that's pretty nice.

I mean 6 time 7 does equal 42 the answer to life, universe, and everything. So these kids do makes sense when you multiple it.

[–] alekwithak@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

But the question is "what do you get when you multiply seven by nine?" So really they're just making things worse.

What gave it away?

[–] militaryintelligence@lemmy.world 18 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Most of the armed forces are MAGA, trust me

[–] VitoRobles@lemmy.today 26 points 1 week ago

Maybe. Many are just dumb 20+ yos who didn't have opportunities.

My cousin was unemployed for three years after HS and wracking up college debt. He's now in the military and knowing him, he probably is sarcastically saying "For Epstein".

[–] scarabic@lemmy.world 15 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I have trouble believing that the military can’t control recruits in training.

[–] Telodzrum@lemmy.world 21 points 2 weeks ago (5 children)

lol

I can tell you’ve never been in the military, then.

Oh yeah, 6 and 7. Classic generation alphas. I liked generation alphas 4 and 5, personally.

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Please don’t spread misinformation without clearly marking the joke.

[–] Godric@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

You take every tweet at face value? Please don't :(
