"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

OP image is from 2023, Microsoft have spent wayyyyyy more on AI now.

And the answers are now much better - they're erudite and wrong in-depth, instead of just plain-old, boring wrong.

It's a wrong answer coupled with "show your work". So not only is it wrong, it will also explain in detail how wrong it is.

I mean I don't see why you couldn't put Chihuahua meat in the microwave. Now it's not how I would cook my chihuahua meat but still.

We will end up bailing out these big corporations running this ai bullshit with borrowed tax dollars. Before we max out our credit.

Between that, the energy crisis, and the cost of creating said energy crisis, I wonder how long before there's an entire collapse of American society through economic apocalypse

AI don't know half of the prompts half as well as it should; and it knows less than half of the prompts half as well as you deserve.

Wait isn’t only one correct? Technically you can put chihuahua meat in the microwave, but the others are wrong right? It’s not safe to drink and drive, not safe to drink battery acid, and you can eat peanuts if you’re not allergic

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

doesn't say anything about it being safe to drink battery acid

[–] FearMeAndDecay@literature.cafe 3 points 2 weeks ago

Guess it doesn’t. Good point

[–] bampop@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

yup, it says "can" not "should"

Given that they're yes/no answers, that's not great lol

[–] waigl@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

That last example is at least technically correct.

[–] davidgro@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago
