  2. We are not a generic World News clone. News must be relevant to Australians and our region. Obvious disregard will earn an warning and then a ban if continued. (If an article isn't from an Oceanian news outlet, and it doesn’t mention Australia, then it’s probably off-topic)

He doesn’t need support to blow a hole in the ground. The implosion of the Middle East will have very little impact on the billionaire’s life.

Two key points from the article:

  1. The US hasn't actually requested support from Australia.
  2. Australian government is not discussing Trump's personal war - even today.

"I think it's a reflection on his character more than us."

That about says it all.

We don't do official government communication anymore. Best we can do is Trump posting to Truth Social while he's shitting.

This whole time I thought he was in bed. I don't know why I thought that.

"We are dealing with a very different US administration now, and we have to be able to do more to defend ourselves," he said.

"This is straight from the heart. This is what he thinks of us. He does not respect his allies."

  • Turnbull

Pretty bang on.

America got SO FUCKING BAD that politicians are speaking sense in un-minced words, directly and openly to the public

[–] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 2 points 2 weeks ago

He probably only asked via a post on twitter.

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 16 points 2 weeks ago

Cool. No problem, then. Good to know.

Just ignore g-pa pedo and his admin. Like literally, don't acknowledge them, their visas, their flight plans, calls, etc. they aren't legitimate.

[–] DarkDecay@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I like how they only refer to him as Donald Trump and mr.trump in the article. Don't even dignified that piece of shit with the label of president. Lol he's a laughing stock around the world

[–] Man_kind@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 weeks ago

He objectively isn't a legitimate president. Its highly suspicious he was fairly elected in the first place, but even if he was, he has violated the constitution so many times, and committed so many acts that warrant impeachment. The only reason he is still in power is because there are too many corrupt politicians in congress and supreme court. In government in general, really.

So, if he does not adhere to the rules a president must adhere to, he is not a legitimate president.

The statesian president gets no special title. They are refered to as Mister, Mrs. (don't get me started on the lack of a commonly accepted long form) or Miss when not referred to as President. In statesia we theoretically have no lords, no ladies, no kings or queens, no landed gentry. Anyone in statesia giving themselves a title^1^ can expect their title to be affixed to them via high velocity lead per Federalist 29.

^1^ As always, Joshua Abraham Norton, Emperor of These States United is excepted.

American here...did they use the word "blistering" because there isn't a verb form of "pustule?"

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

pustulating can be a verb. english is generative enough to do that. we got gerunds for days

[–] Wataba@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 weeks ago

I don't associate with blistered little piggys, Drumpf.
