President Donald Trump has repeatedly taken aim at Democratic rival and possible 2028 presidential candidate Gavin Newsom, fixating on saying the California governor cannot be president due to his dyslexia. Trump has called Newsom a 'low-IQ person' and said he has 'mental problems' because of his learning disability, which Newsom has been open about struggling with.

So many things to shit on Newsom for, and he picks on his disability.

I'm starting to think this Trump guy might not be so nice.

[–] Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Quite. I'm not one much predisposed to negative talk, but I really must say that this Trump fellow may be a bit of a cad.

[–] smiletolerantly@awful.systems 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Sorry to bother you, hope it's alright if I ask for some clarification. English isn't my first language, so I'm a bit uncertain here: is "cad" a euphemism for "racist", "pedophile", "shitbrain", "misogynist", "felon", or some equally true and fitting term I'm not aware of?

[–] Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago

Oh, no, not quite. That was severe understatement on my part. In most English-speaking countries, when a person embodies the pejoratives you've listed, we refer to them as a "trump."

Hey, we have a president with dementia - and with paedophilia. Why would dyslexia be a showstopper...

[–] TwilitSky@lemmy.world 22 points 2 weeks ago

Of all the things Donald Trump could possibly insult others for... intelligence, body odor and decency are probably the lowest on the list.

The man with pudding for brains is calling someone else low-IQ?

We need to rename Dunning-Kruger to just Trump.

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

it's amazing they let him go out there and flail for hours at a time. any other place, when this happens, people would say "ok grandpa, let's get your meds and some juice and take you home"

and think: it'd take 6 - maybe 5 - senate republicans to proceed with impeachment, but they're so afraid of him.

[–] sbbq@lemmy.zip 11 points 2 weeks ago

It has been long rumored that Trump is illiterate.

[–] Kirp123@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

Mr Covfefe throwing shade?

[–] SoloCritical@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

And in the same sentence calls Newson the president of the United States.. you can’t make this shit up.

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 weeks ago

Says the guy who I'm pretty sure is functionally illiterate. Quick make him read Yojou Senki and see how long till he throws a hissy fit, it's basically a text book when translated to English.

Dysexylia Newsom versus Pedonald. I hate 2026

[–] ExtremeDullard@piefed.social 6 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

No no, that's 2028 - which the orange utan still hasn't understood he can't participate in anyway.

[–] MrVilliam@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 weeks ago

He should've been ineligible to run in 2024 per the 14th amendment since he participated in insurrection as affirmed by a court in Colorado. But here we are. Laws only matter if they are enforced, and the enforcement only happens for people from certain groups. They no longer bother to hide such facts.

[–] Soulphite@reddthat.com 1 points 2 weeks ago

Doesn't mean he won't try. If the fat piece of shit lives that long, he'll be running fraudulent ghost campaigns, all for not, his idiotic red hat followers will give him money because they're that fucking stupid. You won't see his name on the ballot sheet because we still have a constitution that doesn't allow it (thank the fuck Christ!). He'll certainly get away with running fraudulent campaigns because why not? We shouldn't care that his idiots are that fucking stupid to be fooled. The worst case is we'll just have to hear about his incessant whining of how unfair it is, but usually the case after the pedophile is no longer relevant - all news on him seems to cease, thankfully.

[–] artyom@piefed.social 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Did you intentionally misspell dyslexia?

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

He's just making it sexier

[–] realitista@lemmus.org 3 points 2 weeks ago

I'd bet he can still read better fhan Trump.Newsom should challenge him to a read-off.

[–] santa@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I can’t wait to see the response from Gavin!

[–] ExtremeDullard@piefed.social 3 points 2 weeks ago

Let me guess:

HEY DONADL: FUK YUO!

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

More projection from donnie dumbass.
