I was planning to buy MBA m1 and the 16gb ram is like nearly double the price of the 8gb ram in India. I only wanna do web development and dsa and nothing else for the next four years till my engineering ends(3years from now) and a bit more after till I can afford another better laptop. I've heard in some years the 8gb ram will be a bottle neck but, so someone please tell me what I should do, if I should just switch to some windows option instead

No. You will not be able to run much. Definitely not anything docker-based. Containerization is computationally demanding.

Depends on what kind of development. If it's Xcode and you plan to use the simulator, the answer is a simple NO. Xcode and the iOS simulator are very heavy.

What is the hardware requirements of the software you plan to use?

Memory/RAM upgrades are insanely expensive everywhere, which is why I strongly urge people to really make an educated purchase instead of just randomly thinking 16GB is OK.
