Fediverse

For those that don't know Alt.Store is an alternative App Store. The EU is forcing Apple and Google to allow alternate stores. These got some funds, like a lot, to build an open store. Alt Store is it. They've build Fediverse INTO their App Store, so ANYONE running the app store will be connected to the Fediverse.

Others have done this as well. Basically a trojan horse of freedom and openness being added to all kinds of projects atm. :D

Apparently it's an iOS appstore

Sounds very nice but can anyone explain me the point to it?

• Developers can opt-in to have their sources federated to explore page
• View all likes on federated apps, app updates, and news items in-app
• Sign in with your Mastodon or Bluesky account to like items directly in-app
• Share links to federated items with others or view them in system browser

What does this mean? This is like the third time they've "joined the Fediverse".
