1. Follow the site-wide rules

2. Be civil
  • Understand the difference between a joke and an insult.
  • Do not harrass or attack users for any reason. This includes using blanket terms, like "every user of thing".
  • Don't get baited into back-and-forth insults. We are not animals.
  • Leave remarks of "peasantry" to the PCMR community. If you dislike an OS/service/application, attack the thing you dislike, not the individuals who use it. Some people may not have a choice.
  • Bigotry will not be tolerated.
  • 3. Post Linux-related content
  • Including Unix and BSD.
  • Non-Linux content is acceptable as long as it makes a reference to Linux. For example, the poorly made mockery of sudo in Windows.
  • No porn, no politics, no trolling or ragebaiting.
  • Don't come looking for advice, this is not the right community.
  • 4. No recent reposts
  • Everybody uses Arch btw, can't quit Vim, <loves/tolerates/hates> systemd, and wants to interject for a moment. You can stop now.

Change Arch to NixOS and change EndeavourOS to Arch

    [–] LynxIsInvicible@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Then wut happen to endeavor OS Im using it but I don't get these types of stuff so can someone explain why people do this?

If you switch to Arch you have security vulnerabilities due to firewall not being setup automatically and some other issues. If you don't know, probably better to stick with Endeavor. I have Arch and love but it's a pain in the ass when combined with Hyprland, which is also a bit bleeding edge and hard to maintain.

idk if I'm understanding you exactly but these memes are just memes based on stereotypes. it doesn't mean people will assume you are person #4 in this image if you use endeavouros. it's just making fun of things

    [–] LynxIsInvicible@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

I see, Thanks. I was just confused because I don't really know where these stereotypes came from

I haven't gotten the fembiy update yet. Anyone know how to fix this?

Maybe I shouldn't have installed Mint on my dad's old laptop that won't run Windows 11. πŸ€”

Shit, I think CachyOS and its gaming optimization made me jump to the end.

I am in the exact pipeline. But instead of mint, I used zorin for a year. Now on EOS from Fedora.

    [–] FreshLight@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 weeks ago

I got a Linux VM on my phone, on two of my laptops, run Arch on my main, installed Zorin on my wife's and my parent's notebooks and have Cachy on my PS4 and on my Switch.

When do I get to look good?

    Any minute now, right guys?

    OpenSUSE user since about 2005/2006.

My headcanon (in this theme) is OpenSUSE being a tall androgynous-y female tomboy cosplaying as a strait-laced male exec done up in the latest tailored pinstripe German banker fashion, including matching waistcoat and fedora, with black trenchcoat suavely draped over the shoulders and hands in black leather gloves. And with the hair having just enough length and curl to be barely toeing past the line of decorum.

    [–] thevoidzero@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

Lol, I just made one of my friend try mint....

This is inf act exogenous steroids and not Linux distributions

To fit knoppix into this, I would need to back the windows exit date off by a decade or so.

    [–] cows_are_underrated@feddit.org 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I went from Mint directly to arch, back to endeavour, fedora, OpenSuse and currently I'm using manjaro on my PC and fedora on my laptop. Endeavour was also a very good experience. I can only recommend it.

OpenSuse however was a total Desaster. I couldn't switch back to X11,bricked my window system in an attempt of trying so and it even broke so bad, that on all of my older system snapshots (that were older than my attempt of trying to switch to X11) I did not have Internet even tho my LAN cable was connected.

Interesting. In Tumbleweed, there one can switch between X11 and Wayland with a simple toggle in the login screen. I haven't experienced any issues going back and forward.
