There is an article making these claims every 2-3 years. Sanitize your digital foot print, and try to create a degree or two of separation between you and the info you surrender online if it bothers you. Leave social media completely. Then accept that nothing you do online is truly anonymous if enough money and time is thrown at finding out who you are. This is the trade off with the current state of the internet until there is some headway made on repealing some of these privacy diminishing laws. Seems like a tall order to me to be hopeful that will happen though.

So now is when you go out and get a few throwaway email accounts on as many odd sites as you can. My fb page is a nom-de-plume and has been for over a decade..
