You just sub the vermouth for Amaro Averna, I recommend it if you haven't tried it. I may just make that next in your honor.
Never tried one like that. I do Dubonnet Manhattans, with orange bitters, and drunk cherries if I have them.
Dubonnet is more fruity, less woody/rotten vegetable that vermouth has. Highly recommend

Once or twice a month I buy myself a cheap fast food hamburger because "at least I'm not in prison", I call it my not in prison burger
Unfortunately I've also started getting a frostie on the way home sometimes because fucking life drags sometimes and I just need an ice cold reminder of things that used to make me happy. Now it's just an empty calorie bandaid.
