Hot take - I'd rather not accelerate their demise. I want it to happen after Trump is (hopefully) out.
OpenAI pre-ordered 40% of yet-to-be-manufactured DRAM, causing a global shortage making memory very expensive, new laptops/phones to be shipped with less memory, and delaying projects like the Steam Machine.
They did it with money they do not have. So unless they manage to actually become profitable - they are going to get bankrupt very hard.
And Trump will bail them out.
I'm not suggesting the next president is going to be against corporate welfare. But maybe, just maybe, OpenAI will be associated so hard with Trump that the political beef alone will make him[^1] more inclined to let OpenAI take the fall they so dearly deserve.
