Hi. I have a 1st Gen Siri Remote with a bloated battery. Is it repairable or should I dispose it because a new one will cost the same?

The battery is $41 + shipping used remotes go for $19 to $45 on ebay a new Siri remote with USB-C is $59.

You will need some soldering skills to replace the battery.

Battery replacement in the UK for the 1st gen is half the price of what a new 3rd gen Siri Remote would be.

Either way - excuse the expression - the pooch has been royally screwed!

That's an expense for the battery but damn that's a cost for a new one?
