The attack on Iran was “clearly a violation of the ban on the use of force under the UN charter and international law, which is the linchpin of the international order since 1945,” he told Guardian Australia on Sunday.

“Domestic criminal acts like the IRGC’s interference here, of course, are not armed attacks which would somehow justify military self-defence against Iran.

“You may not like Iran, you may not like what it does, but that doesn’t justify an aggressive armed attack on Iran.”

Perhaps our govt and others have stopped believing and holding to the rules-based order a long time ago. Give lip-service, yes. Do what is right by international and humanitarian law, no.

I don’t have a problem with Australia supporting the US attack, Iran is run by an oppressive regime that kills their own people. Albo’s rhetoric of supporting the attack because Iran can’t have nuclear weapon’s is a tired excuse that is only less of a joke than if he said they had WMD’s.

Fair call, at the time I didn’t realise that had occurred. I thought they were taking out military targets, not carpet bombing cities. The people can’t rise up and overwhelm their oppressors if they’re dead.

iranian dictator cut off internet access and killed upwards of 30,000 protestors including thousands of students, men, women, children, and this was after constantly doing this for 10 years, he hung protesters in the centre square using tow trucks, they jailed 10’s of thousands and threatened to imprison 100,000 more and you said … nothing

Israel in the war with Hamas (which they did not start), and sad nature of the wars that civilians die. So 70k are not applied there. Same with Iran; attack on Iran was an act of war. No one targets these poor girls on purpose. They are just another tragic collateral. This is a main difference with the action of Iran’s government and the US. The US so far has not killed civilians intentionally (but does not give much fuck about their lives either).

Will Iran and the world win if Iran gets a less murderous government? I guess it will.

Israel is stealing Palestinians land for 78 goodman year that's settler colonialism. There is nothing that justify settler colonialism . Israel and the usa bombed a fucking elementary girl school killing over 150 kids how the hell it that justifiable ? 83% of the Palestinians who got murdered are civilians this is clearly not collateral damage it is very intentional . They destroyed almost all agricultural field which means the population can no longer sustain itself. They are basically starving Palestinians

Ok. What do you expect Jews to do when their enemy’s position is unmovable: “kill all Jews”? Israel defends itself. Fight or die. It is a war. There are plenty of Muslims living in Israel without problems, so the problem is not on the Israeli side. And why do you bring these poor girls as an argument? They have nothing to do with Palestine.
