A place to meme about the glorious ROMAN EMPIRE (and Roman Republic, and Roman Kingdom)! Byzantines tolerated! The HRE is not.

I'm on the "whatever calendar were using" page. If we're doing Gregorian then AD is fine. If we decide to switch then let's get on with it

This is why I laughed about that whole Mayan calendar = world ending crap a few years ago. It's AUC 2779 so if the world was going to end in 2012 it would have ended in the reign of Henry III, not 14 years ago.

I mean, wasn't the thing that the Mayan calendar ended at OUR year 2012, but 2012 was 5000 and something to the Mayans, and just where they decided to stop counting?
