Weird Art (for Weird People)

Weird art is where imagination runs wild, and rules politely excuse themselves. This community celebrates the bold, the bizarre, the tender, the delightfully unhinged.

If it’s strange, soulful, handmade, and human, it belongs here. All weird art is welcome… as long as it’s not AI-generated.

This was a post to a Dull Men group on FB, and I thought the art was fascinating. The user posted anonymously.

Here is the text of his post:

For those wondering, I do sometimes place my favorite sand grains into the empty molted head cap of small jumping spiders. It's an obsession, really. I've done about 30 of these total. This is a favorite as I love the green color of that one grain. 3mm field of view. I love Bandon Sand!

I'm 44, obsessed with sand and jumping spiders, size 14US and love avocados.

Beach glass

Sand can be fascinating! Like someone said, the green is likely beach glass. But here is more on various colorful sand grains: https://geology.com/articles/sand-grains.shtml

If the Bandon mentioned is the one in Oregon, it could also be olivine or epidote. Both are pretty common in the PNW.

This is beautiful and disturbing. Perfect art!

this "ai slop this, aislop that" reaction is getting boring.

What makes you think that it's not a macro photo of what the title says it is?
