I was stationed at Incirlik in 84. I worked on ATC radar so I was out on the flight line. The Turks flew in a bunch of F100s during a NATO tac eval. Maybe a squadron. They were parked out near the radar where I worked. The looked like they had never been maintained. They were all rusty. I am serious. There was visible rust on the fuselage. One of them crashed about 10 miles after takeoff. When I went out to my shift they were all gone. Not sure what happened to them but if that F16 was maintained as good as those F100s were then it is no wonder it crashed.
