So the worst paying employer with the lowest quality product wants to talk immigration? Who the f@ck even shops at Horton's anymore? I would rather rip my tongue out than eat anything from that shill place, not that I would be able to keep anything they make down for long. Fucking hockey moms and office zombies keep this travesty afloat.

The lineups say a lot of people still do. I honestly can't fathom why. Their donuts are no longer fresh baked onsite, their coffee is terrible since they lost their distributor to MacDonalds, and all the other food is terrible.

The lineups say a lot of people still do. I honestly can't fathom why.

Because they're everywhere, and most are open 24 hours.

Plus, they still have name recognition simply due to existing for a very long time.

It's shit, but consistent shit.

This is what I've been saying. It's market share.

If people collectively boycott the shitbox that is Tim's maybe they'd be forced to close some sites and give way to something new.

We need to revive or create a new Canadian coffee shop. There's so many areas for people in the space to capitalize if they can tap the market right and promote themselves.

Does lemmy or piefed have communities for BuyCanadian and promoting Canadian businesses?

[–] prodigalsorcerer@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago (2 children)

/c/buyCanadian exists.

I don't know how to do insurance linking properly, but if that doesn't automatically work, here's another link: https://lemmy.ca/c/buycanadian

I believe lemmy uses exclamation mark for community links. Eg. !buycanadian@lemmy.ca

Both worked! Thanks!

[–] Pixel_Jock_17@piefed.ca 1 points 1 month ago

Worked great! Thank you!

Hahaha hahaha haha

On lemme they broke these groups down into multiple groups consisting of 6 people each. Essentially they're built to destroy any possible momentum before you get anywhere. There's a ton of groups to post about memes with loose formats that build community. So if you wanted to post about beans or moths you're golden. The actual groups to be more political or social minded are fragmented purposefully. This one here is only news articles, this one is only mêmes, I don't think there's even a single one for clips so that isn't even an option. Good luck.

I think lemme very much encompasses why the left has regressed over the past 20 years. They're even being regressed by anti vaccine advocates. It's pretty sad. I wish we could be more socially aware about how to build these things up. But it does make sense why there isn't much for the boycotts or leftist groups.

We need to revive or create a new Canadian coffee shop

Second Cup exists.

So does Robin's (though it's lost a lot of locations in the last several years)

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago

Second Cup is dying because of stupid franchise fees. I know an owner who ditched them and business went up, at higher profits.

[–] Pixel_Jock_17@piefed.ca 1 points 1 month ago

I believe second cup is good but they're not solely Canadian owned and not actively trying to expand from my knowledge. But they are great and we buy from them as well as local mostly!

[–] Someone@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago

Maybe regionally. From the west coast I have never heard of Second Cup as anything other than making coffee flavoured granola bars years ago, and up until now I thought Robin's went out of business in the early '00s.

When you drown "coffee" in milk and sugar, who cares how bad it is.

Tried Dark Roast? Game changer!

True, it's an investment firm though, their money comes from all over.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago

Nah, I like pubes.

[–] pat277@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 weeks ago

Lack of options gives no alternatives besides big chains. Country Style gone, Second Cup gone...

Timmigration

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago

Is that lake Timicaca in Hamilton?

[–] maplesaga@lemmy.world -1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I'm sure the party of mass immigration will look out for Canadian interests.

If Mark Weisman and Gregor Robinson is any indication it will be back to full tilt wage suppression once a majority is established, even the lemming Sean Fraser and Mark Miller still have cabinet positions.
