Could've easily just been a "haha 3am @ waffle house bad", but Atoga went several extra miles. All the little details and references had me pleasantly shook.

Depends on the state and their rules on selling alcohol.

In California? Worst time to go to fast food or a diner. Bars just closed; all those drunk people gotta go somewhere. Most end up at Denny's and start fights.
