Bill Gates has pulled out of a keynote address at the AI Impact Summit in India as he continues to face questions over his relationship with the deceased child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The billionaire Microsoft co-founder travelled to India, where his foundation works with the government on delivering AI for social good, earlier this week and was advertised as speaking at the international summit shortly after the country’s prime minister, Narendra Modi.

But Gates suddenly withdrew on Thursday morning, hours before he was due to address delegates, including the French president, Emmanuel Macron, and India’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani.

The Gates Foundation said in a statement: “After careful consideration and to ensure the focus remains on the AI summit’s key priorities, Mr Gates will not be delivering his keynote address..”

The move came less than 48 hours after the Gates Foundation had insisted: “Bill Gates is attending the AI Impact Summit. He will be delivering his keynote as scheduled.”

What questions? He's a rapist. His ex wife divorced his ass over his friendship with Epstein.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 66 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Read the files. Ole Bill caught VD from the Island and asked Epstein how to secretly dose Melinda with antibiotics. She divorced him when she realized he gave her VD. Before that, she was fine with Epstein.

She might have been willfully ignorant up to that point. Once she had evidence she couldn't pretend to ignore she finally acted.

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 21 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I saw reports that she spoke to at least one of the girls during her visit, wondering why she was there. So at best she stayed silent about the crimes she knew was happening.

[–] Frozengyro@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Not that it makes it okay, but I'm certain she has tons of non-disclosures she signed in the divorce.

[–] ShaggySnacks@lemmy.myserv.one 3 points 1 month ago

Which is worse. The most likely deal was "Sign these NDAs Melinda and you'll get access to your husband's wealth in the divorce".

This means she willingly choose wealth over exposing more abuse.

Once she was actually affected by it all, she left. She was fine trucking along until then.

[–] FlexibleToast@lemmy.world 19 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Humans jump through hoops to try and rationalize the bad acts of the people they like. Oftentimes that's what it takes for them to finely admit it to themselves. What's maybe even more important is what you do next. She has the resources to stand up with the victims, but she chose to remain silent.

After refusing to open source the mRNA covid vaccines, everyone should have seen the monster for who he is.

[–] hector@lemmy.today 49 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

He also invested in Monstanto with his foundation money, and is a big proponent of it, and other toxic pesticides, and gm plants that are engineered to take more pesticides, and owns like 5% of the farmland in the US with his stupid tax free foundation to boot. (This guy has paid like zero taxes and put it all into his foundation instead, and used that for ill ends.)

He is also involved in trying to start geo engineering, pumping masses of sulphur dioxide in the upper atmosphere to blot out the sun, and attends a conference in switzerland every year where the companies coordinate on selling their practics, running PR and overcoming public opposition, on corrupting politicians for it, etc. They've done some test projects too. All on the argument that they know it's safe, because they are so smart, as if they had the data on interconnected variables to know that.

Then his intervention to prevent an open source vaccine as you mention, a vaccine that is not for profit, the very idea, Gates was afraid it would set off a chain reaction of, non overpriced medication?

The guy is delusional, he is surrounded by yes men that tell him what a genius he is, while he has bought self serving ad hoc chemical industry propaganda hook line and sinker, even as it's blatantly untrue. He has no credibility, even before considering he was an Epstein super friend.

[–] apfelwoiSchoppen@lemmy.world 27 points 1 month ago (2 children)

You don't have to look further than how he quietly was just as monstrous at Microsoft as Jobs was at Apple. Was just saying the most recent claxon was not releasing the vaccine for purely robber barron reasons is so glaringly obvious to most people.

I remember a Simpsons episode where Homer sets up an internet business in his home office, and he's going about not knowing what he's doing and Gates shows up with a few big burly dorks. Gates says he learned he has this company, couldn't figure out what he did, but figures he should buy him out anyway.

Homer is thinking Score! I knew it, I'm rich! Play it cool...

Gates is like, Buy him out boys! The big nerds break all of his stuff and trash the place.

They were monopolistic for sure. Everything happening in every sector of the economy started back in the 80s and 90s if not sooner. By the late 90s the die was cast. Courts and regulators were captured as well as both parties, by an alliance of investors and corporations, with any opposing influences sidelined and diminished. Anti trust, competition laws were not enforced, and it's been nothing but consolidation of industry in every sector since, and unfair competition and market power keeping out challengers and using remaining regulations as market barriers while established players get away with murder.

First in telecommunications, then banking culminating in 1999 bank services modernization act, and the software companies followed by tech companies. They are openly flouting our anti trust laws with impunity, Microsoft has been for decades. Any anti trust has been too little too late, and adjudicated by courts they have senior high tiered leasing rights to.

He should really sit down with a journalist to clear up all these wild accusations. I'm sure he can explain everything to us. Just like the former prince Andrew.

[–] Akasazh@lemmy.world 27 points 1 month ago (4 children)

I love the photo from Andrew in the car after his twelve hour police examination:

The fear is so great, you can almost smell it

[–] BanMe@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

How is a younger Prince Andrew driving the car tho, this a time loop scenario?

[–] lka1988@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago

That's absolutely a "ohhhh I'm so fucked" look if I've ever seen one 😂😂

I bet he is thick and arrogant enough that he never bothered to delete all the nasty shit off his electronic devices.

[–] WizardofFrobozz@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 month ago

Been a while since I’ve seen a photo with blown out pupils like that, and it think it is a REALLY fun choice that they went with that photo.

[–] rayyy@piefed.social 31 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The rest of the world is not as subdued in their outrage. Here in the US, the MSM has tamped anger way down.

[–] Notyou@sopuli.xyz 19 points 1 month ago (5 children)

I just read that Prince Andrew was arrested. Way to go other countries.

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The Andrew Formerly Known as Prince.

The billionaire Microsoft co-founder travelled to India, where his foundation works with the government on delivering AI for social good

Remember folks, when a billionarie talks about social good what they really mean social good that ~~about~~ lines with their values and outlook on life.

[–] Quill7513@slrpnk.net 8 points 1 month ago

i remember saying this about him two years ago and people jumped down my throat about how he wasn't running microsoft anymore. all i could say was "do you really think he has no sway at all?"

[–] mohammed_alibi@lemmy.world 14 points 1 month ago

Bill Gates, if you want to do good, please turn your self in and tell everything you know about Epstein.

[–] tehn00bi@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago

Should take all his money and fund every women’s shelter and human trafficking support group.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 12 points 1 month ago

Why do people even listen to him, all he does is hype AI.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 9 points 1 month ago

Don't worry, he'll have more time for evil agenda advancement on the DL, now.

[–] hector@lemmy.today 6 points 1 month ago (10 children)

I just had someone chastise me for jumping to conclusions, just because he was Epstein pals doesn't mean he fucked kids or knew about it.

Are there influence agents on lemmy, like paid bot supported agents pushing bullshit like on the major social media, or was this guy for real? Hard to believe someone could be for real on that, and given the impunity, and the hands off nature of their treatment, pretending they aren't necessarily guilty because they would slaap suit them if they didn't, they should be called out every chance we get.

[–] partofthevoice@lemmy.zip 12 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Everyone fucking knew. That’s the horseshit pile of excuse that the rich want you to believe.

When exactly did Trump say Epstein “likes them on the younger side” so publically?

Epstein’s parties were known to have young girls. He used young girls as currency for rapport — just check his emails with Elon Musk. When did that happen?

Tina Brown received an invite to Epstein’s party and exclaimed, “What the hell is this, the Predators Ball?” When did that happen?

When was Epstein fired from teaching for inappropriate relations with a student?

When was Epstein convicted in relation to having sex with a minor?

This was part of the lure. The rich powerful people of the world knew Epstein was the connection they needed to surround themselves with young women, like so many imagine rich life would be like. They bought into that allure, knowing full well they’d have plausible deniability if today ever came.

I love that all the money he dumped trying to greenwash his assholery was all for nothing. Looks like the lessons from Warren Buffett just back fired on to that pos also. Those 2 hung around way to much eating at mcd's trying to pretend to just be regular people. The little guys they destroyed to be billionaires need to take them down with all the dirt they have.

[–] taco@anarchist.nexus 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

People like that are the entire point of the bots and paid posters. They sound convincing enough loudly enough to convince some folks there's another option. This captures people who haven't heard otherwise or want to believe that side because it tickles their confirmation bias or whatever. Those people continue to spread the seeded idea, and eventually a network effect takes over and makes it seem like a valid stance that came up organically.

[–] BillyTheKid@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 month ago

This is spot on. And is worse than ever before.

[–] zbyte64@awful.systems 6 points 1 month ago

Bill Gates got STDs and asked Epstein if there was an antibiotic he could give his wife without her knowing. Typical innocent person behavior.

[–] Supervisor194@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Are there influence agents on lemmy, like paid bot supported agents pushing bullshit like on the major social media, or was this guy for real?

Bet on it.

Edit: influence agents, that is

[–] neuromorph@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

yes, just being named in the files does not mean you participated in any of the criminal activity.

For instance members of the lab I attended at Harvard are in the files, because Someone referenced a research paper to Epstein, thus the lab and specific authors of the paper are in the Epstein database. All they did was publish an academic research paper.

However, when there are specific instances of your behavior or attendance at events featuring Sexually trafficked minors, YES you should be thought of as a co-conspirator in the crimes.

[–] ShaggySnacks@lemmy.myserv.one 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

We're not operating in a court of law where evidence, rules, and procedure are meant to make sure that the process is fair. I would agree that charging Bill Gates criminally is a non-starter at the moment.,

Howevere, this the court of public opinion where we can and will judge people for anything regardless if there are facts to support or not. This is only way us plebs are going to get a justice when it comes to the capital class. We should destroy their reputations. It's not like Bill Gates is going to live a terrible life from this. The amount of wealth that Bill Gates has means that he will never suffer from a poor reputation. If Bill Gates was a poor shlub like us, I would agree that destroying somene's reputation in the public opinion until the facts come up will probably be a net negative.

If Bill Gates is worried about his reputation, then he can go on the record and explain everything.

If the reported facts are true and he wanted antibiotics to slip to his wife because he gave her an STI/STD he got from a Russian girl supplied by Epstein, then he is beyond evil. He became rich and then became evil or he was evil all along. Tax him into oblivion

[–] lechekaflan@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Looks like some conspiracy theorists feeling their hunches were confirmed: GATES A LIZARD MAN

Like it all began with a little Easter egg in Excel 95.
