Plus it's a game-key card, so it'll be worthless when Nintendo's servers shut down.

It's not very fair to compare the pricing in a vacuum IMO. I remember reading an article about how the prices of some games are justified when you consider how much content they contain, relative to a movie - and the price of the ticket to watch it in cinema - for example.

$100 is 2.5x of $40, but it's only fair if they do provide 2.5x playtime of content, no?

Adjusted for inflation Mystery Dungeon would have been $61 in 2025.
