The Djiboutian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in a statement, considered this measure a flagrant violation of international law and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
“The statement emphasized that this attempt to annex Palestinian territories is unacceptable and perpetuates the expansion of settlements, which is already considered illegal,” it stressed.
It affirmed that any unilateral measure aimed at altering the legal status of the occupied Palestinian territories is null and void and undermines international efforts to establish a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
The Foreign Ministry reiterated, once again, Djibouti’s firm stance in support of the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, among which it emphasized their inalienable right to an independent state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Finally, it urged the international community to assume its responsibilities to end these violations, guarantee respect for international law, and protect the rights of the Palestinian people.
