So yea are we ready to accept that this man is a fascist?

Congratulations shitlibs, once again you have proven that you have no spine. If and when this man gets into office I can guarantee this country won't improve, hell it wont even stop getting worse, he's gonna act exactly like Trump did during his first term.

When the day comes all reactionaries, capitalists, and collaborators will face justice

Can't wait for him to rightfully not become president and then listen to bots+morons on Lemmy think they're being smug and epic posting about "now we have fascism but at least we don't have another Reagan day RiGhT?!? 😘😉😏😏"

It’s impossible to know what (if any) principles Newsom holds. Everything he does seems so politically calculated.

He does pass a lot of liberal policies, but he always sprinkles in some conservative bullshit, like he wants to pad his conservative resumé with seemingly random, toothless declarations like this one.

So we're sticking with the "trying to win over conservatives" angle instead of moving even a millimeter to the left? 2028 election might as well be cancelled as trump is promising, because this asshole is not the solution and only stands to forestall the inevitable plunge we're taking as a nation.

This is why I stopped being a Democrat years ago. I'm so mad at them. Not sure I could vote for Newsome even as the "less of a Nazi" vote.

[–] HobbitFoot@thelemmy.club 1 points 2 hours ago

I stayed Democrat to vote people like him out in the primary.

It works some of the time.

Shit, what's next? Making 4/20 Adolf Hitler Day?

[–] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 62 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

This is who American Liberals think should be in the running for the next D president.

Might as well drop the mask entirely and proclaim a national Hitler day.

The fuck we do! Anyone paying attention can see he's just Biden, but happy to troll the GOP. I expect him to get the 2028 nomination and that pisses me off.

Newsom is not a good dude. It’s just that the bar is so fucking low in US politics these days, there are a lot of people who look at him and think he’s not half bad. But make no mistake - he’s a neoliberal corporatist, and is lately trying to ham-fistedly lean into populism. Huge “how do you do, fellow kids” vibes.

Accurate, live in the area and I've noticed he guts any protections & laws as soon as his corporate sponsors say anything. He's a useless wet paper towel trying to impersonate a seatbelt.

Dude probably only owns one skateboard.

What the fuuuuuck. No. That should absolutely not be a thing.

Haha, fuckin hilarious. I'm gonna proclaim February 6th as Margaret Thatcher Day too.

That'll give us a year to really prepare for next year's Margaret Thatcher Day.

What should be some of the hall marks of Margaret Thatcher Day? What should go on the bunting and balloons? What sort of foods should we encourage people to make for the street parties?

I will make a lovely Molotov cocktail for any Thatcher Thatcher Milk Snatcher fan...

Um Ackshually, they proclaimed Feb 6 as Ronald Reagan day because that was his birthday, and he used to be Governor of California, so there's at least a connection there. Thatcher's day would probably be October 13th.

The 8th of April is Thatcher day. Holidays should give happy feelings.

So sad the Toilet Day didn’t overlap whit this one

He’s also acknowledging that the dude had dementia. I’m neutral on this one.

[–] shani66@ani.social 2 points 1 hour ago

Almost everything wrong with the country can be traced back to Reagan. Either as a cause or a major exacerbater.
