Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Analysis by Channel 4 News has identified emails within the latest Epstein files that suggest that the mountain of information released by the US Department of Justice could amount to just a fraction of the total – potentially just 2% of the information that the FBI retrieved from Epstein’s homes.

This is getting so fucking ridiculous. How come other countries are holding their perps to the fire and we aren’t? Embarrassing.

[–] MartianHills@lemmy.world 5 points 55 minutes ago

Knowing that Epstein had hidden cameras at all of his properties and seeing the FBI photos of hundreds of hard drives tells me that we haven't even scratched the surface.

Everybody is laser focused on this like it is some sort of silver bullet but if you don't pay attention this orange fuck is going to highjack the midterms and then you are truly fucked

It's a box of silver ammo and a list of hundreds of the most powerful werewolves on earth. It isn't going to fix everything but it gives legitimate way to prosecute the ultra rich

[–] tomi000@lemmy.world 1 points 5 minutes ago

Really no silver bullets in there, only the list. You might find out who the werewolves are but thats it. They will keep lying, hiding, manipulating, or simply killing you if you try to oppose them.

Nevertheless, USians should take whatever they can get.

[–] this@sh.itjust.works 6 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

And to extend your analogy, we need skilled marksmen to actually do something about the werewolves.

[–] redsand 2 points 2 hours ago

Ideally prosecutors internationally. Possibly plumbers and princesses.

[–] LMurch@thelemmy.club 2 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

And all the current marksmen are on the Trump payroll.

[–] amateurcrastinator@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

And who is going to do the prosecuting?

[–] redsand 2 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Prosecutors. France can start with Wexner. It will bleed into the US as the economy collapses

[–] amateurcrastinator@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

Sounds like a plan!

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 11 points 6 hours ago

It is possible to do more than one thing at a time.

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 5 points 7 hours ago

Everyone is pretending that they matter and these rich fucks are going to prison.

Oh I’m sorry that you only got the text releases, you really want the photos and videos that make up 98% of the data?

Edit: not defending the DoJ for covering up emails but “percentage of data” is a stupid metric here

[–] green_red_black@slrpnk.net 34 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

I mean it may seem stupid but it does show that not all the files where released as per the congressional law passed by unanimity and signed by President Trump.

Not to mention if the damage the released files is already bad, imagine how much more is in the overwhelming majority not released

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 8 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

as someone on reddit mentioned, they are releasing only small bits at a time so they can hope people can get bored of the news eventually.

[–] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 minutes ago

Feels like they might be making a mistake and are slowly fanning the flames of a firestorm.

[–] Chozo@fedia.io 8 points 14 hours ago

I don't want to be the one to view them, but I want them to be viewable.
