I was wondering why no one was mentioning Revolt with talk of Discord alternatives, but now I see why: Revolt had to change its name to Stoat.

Is stoat any good?
It looks exactly like discord, I recreated my entire discord server one to one in stoat.
The process of creating an account is not only a hassle for you but for the devs at the moment because of the amount of people converting they need to painstakingly accept all mails manually until they solve the Spam-Filter issue.
Voicechat works(couldn't test properly), videochat and screenshare is "coming soon 👁️"
Trying to sign up for days but I have yet to receive a verification email.
Now you know why, some poor souls are drowning in a flood of mails trying to verify them one by one as peope repeatedly re require the verification email.
And everytime you send another verification request the previous one will get invalidated immediately and you need to wait until they verify the new one.

That's not been my experience. I signed up yesterday, requested a new verification email after the first one didn't arrive for ten minutes, only then read about the issues they're having and decide to wait. A few hours later a verification email arrives, that just works, and I start setting up my server. Even more hours later the second verification email arrives.
I mean, I guess it could've been the case that the first email I got was from the second verification attempt, and the second email was from the first one which was invalidated, but idk about that
Is this self-hostable and federated?
Technically self hostable, but you need to compile the client from source to point to your instance and last I checked voice calls don't work on the current release version. It's not federated.
