the problem is they don't need subscriptions from the plebs. they will get all the money they ever need from government (i.e. your tax money)

the problem with cynism, is that it get nothing done. We have to try, even though it is hopeless

true. for what it's worth i've been mocking, ridiculing, and shitting on not just AI but all the tech shit for some years now

I expect this is true, but might change with the whims of the government or when leadership changes.

They are adding ads, so it seems that they feel like showing revenue from consumers is important at a certain level.

i don't think so. once freedoms are gone, they tend to stay gone. see: patriot act--even obama AND biden signed off on renewing it

the ad money is just extra. as long as AI can serve as a mass surveillance tool for the government, they have nothing to worry about money-wise

So they quit ChatGPT for Anthropic and Gemini?

"We don't like ChatGPT specifically, but Generative AI is fine from Google and Amazon! Honest guys! Trust us!"

I quit for Mistral. It’s just as good as far as I can tell. These things are becoming a commodity. Much cheaper too which was nice.

OOTL Why are we ditching GPT?

People somehow suddenly realized they support fascism in America. I guess that's something people who get their info from AI could have easily missed.

I think for a lot of people the introduction of ads is part of the reason they suddenly realized this company is not working for the betterment of mankind after all.

They support the flavor of the day. They were green credits and DEI during Obama. Now it's ICE, MilTech contracts and collecting all the data on you they can (Looking at you Discord).
